Default oil viscosity for 96 milleniaS

My son is ready for his 1st oil change since acquiring a 96 Millenia S. What weight oil is recommended for this car w/100K miles? He doesn't have an owners manual to refer to.

either 5w-30, or 10w-30. since winter is past, i would go with the 10w-30. i have been using 5w-30 since new with no adverse effects. i only use synthetic oil. you should also change the fuel filter and spark plugs(60k intervals), flush the coolant, transmission, and brakes.

Keninn, Thanks for reply re: oil type. Where is the fuel filter located on the 96 S?

fuel filter is in the trunk. take out the liner, look up by the ski door, you will see a round plate, gold. iirc, 3 screws. take that off, underneath is where it lives. i go at it thru the ski door. i sit on the back seat, lower the arm rest, and access it that way. gotta be a bit of a contortionist. make sure you dont put it in backwards. good luck
