Default New to Mazda

Hello there! I just bought a 2000 Mazda Millenia S, and I'm not too familiar with them. I've been a long time Subaru owner. I just have a couple of questions-

What is the best place to get parts online?
Is there anything I should keep an eye out for in my car?

Thanks!

TascaParts.com

like any other car, depends on the prior owner. bottom line, if you cannot do the work on the car yourself, get rid of it

How many miles? Was there any major (engine and timing belt) repair before you purchased? There are so many things to consider with a used car. If you're not familiar with mazda, better consult a technician. As long as buying parts online is considered,
the auto parts shop is one of the best places to buy OEM and aftermarket Mazda Parts at discount prices.

there is NO WAY this place can beat tasca pricing for genuine. i just put in the part number for a power steering hose, and, like all the other wannabes, it does not come up on the website. and, since most of the parts for the 2.3 are ONLY available genuine, i would look elsewhere. additionally, because of the low number of these cars sold in the usa, most likely places like the auto parts shop know NOTHING about this car. at best, they will be confused between the 2.5 and the 2.3, and you will get parts that do NOT interchange.
consulting a "technician" can also be a disaster. there are very few, if any, "technicians" who have even SEEN a 2.3, let alone worked on them. be very careful here, you can end up paying someone a lot of money to learn how to repair a millenia. better you learn how yourself.

and btw, i also own a 2002 outback, 2.5. a timing belt job on a subaru 2.5 is a piece of cake compared to the mazda 2.3.

Thanks! The timing belt was replaced not too long ago. As far as the rest of the engine, I'm not too terribly sure.

That's because the EJ engine line IS a piece of cake to replace a timing belt on. Even working on most of the engine is a piece of cake. It's one of the simplest cars I've ever had in terms of maintenance.

Also-

If you haven't replaced the head gaskets on that car yet, just get rid of it
