Default RE: millenia coil test

Do you have the 2.3 Millenia S or 2.5 engine? What year Millenia as well? If is the Millenia S with individual coils on each cylinder, commonly know as COP or Coil On Plug, there are some resistance readings that can be taken but are 99% unreliable. A failing coil often tests perfectly good with a resistance check. Best test is to move the suspect coil to another cylinder, say #4 which would be front bank, center cylinder, clear the code and drive until light comes back on. If you now have a cylinder 4 missfire code P0304 then wallah you know the coil was bad. Probably is as they are notoriously bad, especially in the rear bank where heat builds up so much.

only the S uses coils, they don't ever usually wear out, but if they even alittle you will get a CEL..and a noticable drop in power, they usually work fine, or die

That is very unusual about only the Millenia S having coils. Are you sure about that?? I wonder how then does the 2.5 engine Millenia get spark to fire the cylinders??
