Mazda Forum - Mazda Enthusiast Forums - how, exactly, does someone break a door handle?

good morning.

i am the owner of a 1997millenia s. ithas been in the shop for a few days for a tune up anSbelt replacement. my mechanic called me this morning and asked if i had been having any trouble with my door handle. my response was, "oh lord, what now?"

he said that he had not been having any trouble getting in to my car, then, when he went to move it today, he could not get in. it seems as though my driver side door handle is broken. i am refusing to pick up my car until they fix this as i also refuse to enter my car thru the passenger side.

[sm=dontgetit.gif] do door handles randomly break like this? and is this going to be an easy fix? or are replacements impossible to come by? any advice would be greatly appreciated (as always).
