Bose Radio not working
Hey all...I was wondering if anyone has had any frustrations with the Bose factory stereo. My radio stopped working, although the CD changer works and sounds fine, the radio itself stopped getting signal. I took it to a car stereo place and they tested the antenna and it was fine; they said the Bose system is screwed up inside. Then, I went out and bought an aftermarket Pioneer and could not get sound out of the speakers (I just read something about non compatibility with Bose speakers?). So I am back to my Bose factory with CD's only. Any advice? get rid of all Bose components altogether? Or does anyone know what the radio issue might be?
Thanks so much! Max |
Bose Radio not working
Have you checked to see if the antenna cable pulled out of its socket in back of radio? Which radio do you have?.... CD in radio or 6 CD player; year?
Wouldn't hurt to reset the radio code. Might try replacing yours with a used radio. eBay usually has them for sale for about $50. Good luck. |
Thanks for the reply. I ended up buying a new Pioneer FH P8000 and got a low frequency adaptor from Best Buy so I could keep my Bose speakers. Everything works great now and have Bluetooth, Ipod connection and satellite radio. Thanks again!

low frequency adaptor?
Glad it's all working for you.
What's a low freq adaptor, and costs? Where in the system is it installed? Thanks. |
I installed everything myself and it's pretty easy. This frequency adaptor goes behind the stereo wired in between the cable speakers and the harness for the stereo. Supposedly BOSE speakers/built in amps run at a different frequency that any other manufacturer's so when I originally hooked up my new stereo I couldn't hear any sound. I got all of this to work as I went into a Best Buy installation place and spoke to one of the guys who knew everything about this. Good luck!
