Default alternator/compressor belt

Hello, first post for me..i hate i coming in asking for info without contributing, but im in a jam. Can someone tell me where the tension pulley for the belt that goes around the alternator compressor. i've changed the alternator but cannot get the belt back on. thank you for taking time to read this and help me.

Hi, what year Millenia and is it the 2.5l engine or 2.3l miller cycle Millenia S?

1995 2.5L. There seems to be a vertical screw on the top pulley..is that for fine adjustments? anyhow, i cannot figure out the tension release.

That vertical screw is the adjustment screw. I will post a picture that should help as well. Loosen the 14mm nut in the center of the tensioner pulley ( A ) by a full turn or so. Now turn that vertical screw ( B ) counterclockwise. You should see the tensioner pulley coming upwards. Keep turning untill you are able to go ahead and install the belt. Reverse above steps to retension belt.

sorry to beat a dead horse but which way do u turn the 14mm nut? counter or clockwise?

ive been trying for a good 2 weeks to change my serpentine belt lol

nvm got it, almost just a tiny bit bigger belt and it would be on, the bolt on top of the tensioners striped so im gonna see if they sell a bigger belt

Hey I'm just wanting to help because I ran across this and at first I didn't understand how or where the belt tensioner was at eithier. Is it going to be kind of hard for me to describe because I'm not a mechanic but underneath the plastic roundround that is on the side of all of the belts will see a small square opening and to loosen it up put a 1/4 in drive of a wrench into the square and turn the wrench counter clockwise . That will relieve the tension off the belt where you can but it back over the alternator.
