97 Millenia Front Suspension Questions

All, I have recently been asked to look at a 97 Millenia with a starnge intermittent problem. Occasionally in a turn the car "skips" or lurches (best she could describe). I have not felt this yet, but did give the suspension an overall look. I did not find anything alarming, though I did note that everything is getting old. I could not find any play in the inner/outer tie rod ends, and the lower ball joints seemed fine. No play in the wheel bearings. There is a lot of play in the strange bushing on the top strut rod (the one other similiar suspensions do not have), though it looks like it is by diesign. THe rear lower control arms bushings are pretty soft, though the front bushings are not. The struts were replace last year, and tires are not great, and I have reccomended having them replaced and the vehicle aligned.

What should I be looking for on this odd car? I have not found a lot of resources for the Millenia, and the Haynes doesn't show much about it. Are there strange hydraulic failure modes I should be looking into that may cause this type of problem? I know that on some GM power steering systems that utilize an Electronic Variable Orifice, you can get a similiar type of failure whenthe EVO (or the resistor ont he steering column) are failing.

Thoughts?
