Too Hot Out for the Video Display to Work

My wife got into her brand new MX-5 Miata with maybe 50 miles on it to drive home from work. It was parked in the hot Florida sun all day. The air temp was around 98, with a heat index of 105. It could have been 120 inside the car. When she started the car, the video display basically said "I'm off for now until it cools down. It's so hot it may damage the display. Talk to ya later after it cools down". I never heard of this before, but I get it!

I've seen it before on standalone Tomtom & Garmin satnav units. Basically prevents circuit damage due to excessive temperatures.

Its nothing to be worried about. Maybe invest in a windscreen shade.

Preservation mode, the electronics are becoming self aware. So it begins.....

My cell phone shuts down for the same reason if I leave it out in the sun. Thankful for that bit of technology.

It would have been interesting to see when the display came back after the air conditioning cooled down the inside, but her ride home from work doesn't last long enough for the car to cool down.
