Default hopped up Miata

I'm new to Mazdas, having cut my teeth mainly on GMs and Fords many moons ago. I'm a real gear-headed technoid and want to build a really hot Miata. Do Mazda engines all have different bell housing bolt patterns, or are some of them the same? I want to stuff a V-6 Mazda if they make one, into a Miata instead of using a turbo. To handle the HP, I can slip in a truck trans and rear axle. I heard that there's a kit to put a 5.0 Ford in one, butI don'tthink that itwould handle very well with that much weight up front.
