Default Help! Radio not working...

I have a 2000 Miata with 22K miles on it and today the radio stopped working. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. Would anyone know what else could be the problem? Thanks!!

Default RE: Help! Radio not working...

Tina--I have a 1990 model and my radio works intermittently. An acquaintence who works for a local Mazda dealership told me there is a "reed" type relay that works the radio and these are known to malfunction. His advice to me is to get a radio from a salvage yard. I can usually make it work by pressing the on/off button in rapid succession after the car has run for 10 minutes or so. I know I am getting close when the display flickers on each time I depress the button. I just keep at it and eventually it has always come on. It seems to be more difficult in wet weather, but other times I will go for a couple of weeks with the radio working just fine, then all of a sudden, out she goes again. Not a daily driver, so I don't worry much about it.

Hope this helps.

Greg
