Help - has Miata 18 years & now will not start!
 

Can some of you geniuses please help me. My trusty mazda of 18 years does not START. The ignitions makes a continuous ticking noise but does not turn.

Things I have checked.

1) Fuel
2) Ignition Coil
3) Starter Motor
4) Battery
5) Its getting a full spark.

and all above are fine. Mechanic says it could be a relay.

Any ideas, anyone please!!! Been trying for a solution for 8 months now!

Not really enough info. You say the ignition makes a ticking noise. Do you mean the starter makes a ticking noise and does not turn the engine over? How much fuel pressure does it have? Are the injectors getting power and ground? ( noid light required) Is the timing belt ok? Is the spark blue or orange? You want blue spark, orange indicates a weak coil or really bad plug wires.

I 2nd the above post. More info required.

Same Old stuff with many posts on this forum, not just this one.
Give us mileage, fill out where you are from (which you did not do), give us any modifications, give us some service history -- like last plug change, last time ign coils changed, last time PCV valve changed, standard or automatic tranny, .....

The more info you give us the better answer you get. This is also the reason why some posts don't get answered at all, because you are wasting both mine and yours time.
