F-UGLY Street Rod Modded MX-5 Miata At 2014 Tokyo

What do you think of this transformed Miata?
If they went for the Rat-Rod style, they missed it. Paint job is horrid. I'm not a fan of those rims---too many flat surfaces.
It's definitely looking like an early Roadster style. They couldn't decide on grille so they did both---1/2 one style, 1/2 another!
Mazda Miata chopped, channeled, and generally rendered to look like a terrifying amalgamation between a '32 Ford, a Char-Broil barrel smoker and an inexplicable Spider-Man grille is exactly the sort of thing you'd see at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Hell, the entire car is inexplicable.
This MX-5 Miata was, “actually built by a Technical Training School, maybe similar to Automotive Engineering School here in the U.S.A.”
With its low profile, open headers, exposed engine bay, bucket headlights, and deleted fenders the students at this automotive technical school were definitely trying to channel an aesthetic. As with all concepts and one off builds, mixed reviews are unavoidable. Amidst the outpour of criticism and praise what stands out is this group of builder’s tenacity to see this concept through.
