Default Engine weight

I'm considering an engine swap for my miata to a V6 or a Rover aluminum V8. I'd prefer not to go very much heavier than the existing I-4 to preserve the weight distribution, but I can't find information anywhere on weight of the existing 1.8 L engine. Does anyone know what one of these weighs? How about in combination with the 5 speed transmission?

I dunno how much any of the motors your thinking of putting in weigh but I know the stock motor doesn't weigh much. Why not turbo or supercharge the existing motor?

nwward,
It's the stock engine I'm seeking the weight on. Don't like the lag time on turbos when autocrossing, Want more driveable power than would be available with a supercharger without using more boost than I'm comfortable with. The Rover or old B.O.P. V8 is all aluminum, and very little if any heavier than what I'm guessing fora pressurisedMiata engine.
