Engine Flooding and getting hot
 

I recently rebuilt 91 Mazda Miata engine and new exhaust system. No problems with transmission. But I am having a issue with the car flooding and getting hot and shutting off. When it cools down the car will start. Not a issue with coil pks, belts or timing, fuel injection pressure regulator is good, Replace fuel pump. What could be the issue with the flooding and engine getting hot when this happens?
