Considering purchasing used NB
 

I'm looking to purchase a used Miata. Budget constraints will keep me in the $4000 to 6000 price range.
Currently I'm looking at two 2001 models. Both are listed as LS one being a 5 speed with 74000 miles the other a 6 speed with 89000 miles.
What are the major differences between the 5 and 6 speed models? (don't say a gear ) any differences with the chassis etc.
No one knows if the 60,000 mile service was done to either one.
Given equal pricing which to you think would be a better buy?

I'm pretty sure the 6-Speed models were the higher trim levels; I'm shopping the exact same range of Miatas, and the ones I've seen with the 6-Speed all have a limited slip diff, a nicer interior (all but one was leather), and wider tires. I've also been told the suspension is upgraded a bit on the 6-Speed models. In your shoes, I'd opt for the 6-Speed.

thanks for the feed back. Well the people with the red 5speed seem to have fallen off the face of the earth. The blue 6 speed is not nearly as nice in person as pictures would lead one to believe.
