Default Posting video files on this forum

Can someone please tell me what video format I need to use when posting a video clip on this forum?
I tried MP4 but it gets rejected as a not complying format.

I use youtube and it works just fine
File format: YouTube prefers the original, 1080p HD broadcast format
  • MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14): This is the most preferred format for YouTube uploads as it provides excellent quality while maintaining a manageable file size.
  • AVI (Audio Video Interleave): Known for its high-quality output, but it usually results in larger file sizes, which can be inconvenient for uploading.
  • WMV (Windows Media Video): Often used for streaming on Windows devices, but not all features are supported by YouTube.
  • FLV (Flash Video): Although it has been a popular format for old web-based video streaming, it is largely obsolete today.
  • MOV (Apple QuickTime Movie): Commonly used for videos shot on Apple devices, compatible but may need conversion for optimal performance on YouTube.
  • MKV (Matroska Video): This format supports a range of codecs and high-quality video, but not all MKV files are compatible with YouTube.

Maybe the forum blocks people posting video clips direct which may take up quiet a bit of space. I tried to add a clip using the upload button but it came up saying it did not support MP4 format.

Charlescrown, I believe you are correct regarding storage size on forums. A link to YouTube or external source is easy.
