2021 CX5 GT lights not as bright?
Just new here, hopefully someone can advise me. I just got a new 2021 CX5 GT after having the same 2018 CX5 GT tech for the past 3 years. I have noticed the lights don't shine down the road nearly as far. I never noticed this in my 2018. I feel as though I need my high beams on over 60kmh, as I can't see far enough up the road. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? I have an appointment scheduled with my dealer but they are just going to take it for a test drive and see, as there are no ways to adjust the lights. I feel as though they are going to tell me this is the new norm, but I don't feel this is safe anymore. Anyone care to comment? Thanks
Yeah, I'd look at the on-screen setup options. Check your Owner's Manual to see where in the setup screens the choices are for Lighting. It ought to be in there.

Assuming you've got the iActiveSense feature, check pp 4-121 to 4-123 of your Owner's Manual. That describes the basic "High Beam Control" (HBC) functionality.
On the 2016.5 CX-5 GT I have, it's got the "High Beam Control" (HBC) system, which is supposed to automatically determine when it's okay for lights to automatically set to High beams when there are no other cars ahead or approaching. Under the "Personalization Features" of the Owner's Manual, it describes the Vehicle settings, Lighting options. In there are the controls for the HBC, how sensitive the automatic lighting should be (in sensing if it's dark enough to automatically activate the headlights), etc.
As for my outrunning my headlights ... I feel much the same, that above ~40mph or so the headlights could be adjusted a bit farther down the road. Next time I'm at the shop I'll check on how to adjust the alignment of the lighting. It'd be nice if they could be angled upward one or two degrees, for more "throw" of the lighting.
Of course, once I figure out which "proper" accessory fog light and/or driving light I want to add to the car, that'll solve much of the problem.
