When locking doors, they lock then immediately unlock

When locking doors, they lock then immediately unlock
I purchased a 2013 CX-9 that had been in a front end collision/deployed airbags. The car has been repaired - new airbags, bumper, seat belts, etc. For some reason the door locks don't "work". They lock, then immediately unlock. If I use the key fob, they lock fine. I can also use the key to lock and unlock the door. Anyone know why the doors keep unlocking?
