Default Unlock All Doors When Liftgate is Opened

I just got my 2020 CX-9. I had a Highlander. Situation: vehicle locked. I press the open button to raise the lift gate (or use the remote). The gate opens and all the other doors open too. Is there a way to program the CX-9 to do that? Thanks.

Can't speak for the 2nd gen, but on the 1st gen, that is how it works. When you open the tailgate, it unlocks all 4 doors, then the tailgate unlocks and opens.

There should be two rubber buttons on the tailgate, One to lock/unlock vehicle and another to open tailgate. Please confirm.
Otherwise press the unlock button on the remote, then the tailgate button.

I pushed this button and nothing happens

Good to know one can lock the 4 doors with this button.
Sorry it took so long to reply. Fishing trip you know. So, I see the button to the right of the lift gate switch. That is used to lock the 4 doors. See attachment. Good to know. When the liftgate is open there is what appears to be a button. (see attachment). I pressed it and nothing happened.

What you are calling a " Button" to the left of the latch/catch is only a trim clip.

Sorry. Now that you mention the "trim" issue. That's what it is.
