Thinking of buying 2009 CX-9

Hi, I just moved to the US and need a car. Right now it's just me, my wife, and my daughter, but we'r planning on having at least another kid, and wanted to be able to travel with our parent when they are around, so I wanted at least seven seats. We live very close to my work so I will just bike to work and use the car for errands and road trips, but not really as a commuting vehicle.
We found a used CX-9 Sport in really excellent condition with 117000 miles on the clock. I had it inspected by a mechanic that came highly recommended that gave it a clean bill of health. It comes with a 30 day 100% guarantee on safety relevant items, and 60 days on everything else (but at 50% reimbursement). We agreed with the dealer that I would pay $9,400 including everything (taxes, doc fee, smog, plates, everything).

But now I found out about the brake booster issue, which of course was quite worrying. However I did find the relevant technical bulletin (SSP-93) and my car is not in the listed VIN ranges. Is the problem EXCLUSIVE to these ranges? Also if the problem does happen, is it gradual? Will the test procedure listed in the bulletin give warning as it's developing? Or will I just loose suddenly lose brakes on the freeway?
Thanks,

Andrea
