Default Temp.Gauge

My newly bought used 2020 CX9 GS-L has no temperature gauge. It ony shows a blue thermometer icon upon start up and disappears after a driven a few distance. Is this normal for this model? How can you monitor if the engine is getting hot? Anyone? Thanks.

when the light goes out the coolant just reached 129.9f
If you are like me I like to know in real numbers what’s going on.
my recommendation is to get an Ultragauge.
I also run manual temp gauge to see the difference between Mazda sensor report to ECU and the different location for the manual sensors to the analog gauge.

I’m confused after reading these Mazda CX 5 blue coolant light threads on the net.

My 2022 Premium Plus has a temperature needle gauge, right side of dash.

No blue light setup.

What CX 5’s gets blue light, and who gets a permanent needle gauge?

Like the gauge it is what we call "idiot gauge or lights".
The gauge is always design so people view that in the middle is good and beyond that is no so good. . Even the gauges that have actual numbers the spacing does not really work if you look at it and is displayed for the consumer to fell comfortable with the universal temperatures that 195F- 220f is optimal and hotter then 220F is time to start to worry. LOL

If you scan your OBDII diagnostic connector you can access true value temperature values and see by comparing your dash gauge to actual to understand what I am saying.

Display Temperature and a few other monitoring Gauges are more or less a "feature" now and not necessary according to auto manufactures.

Me I like gauges!! Maybe because I fly and the planes I prefer have both analog and digital reading out displays and gauges. It is how my brain works better.
