Default Stalling Randomly in my 2010 CX-9

I have a 2010 cx-9 that has a seemingly random stalling problem. It will occasionally go for weeks without happening and then happen several times in the same day. The battery, oil, and check engine lights come on when it stalls, but it does not leave a code.

As it stalls, gas and power steering cut out, but electrical is fine. After pulling to the side of the road, the car starts up again with no trouble.

It is a salvage title with about 40,000 miles on it was in a front end collision.

Our mechanic has tried:
replacing a wiring harness (there was a TSB on this), replacing crank and cam sensors, checking for loose grounds, and just going over the front end and wiring in general to check for loose or damaged wiring.
Before that, the mazda dealer tried to go over it for an inspection, (twice) but they didn't find anything either.

I have had basically no luck recreating it for our mechanic, and when he took it for test drives (even keeping it for several days) the stalling problem didn't happen for him.

This car should be our daily driver, and is what we use to move the family around, but it's pretty nerve-wracking to drive it. If it wasn't a salvage that I still owed money on, I might look into selling it at this point...

How could we possibly get this resolved? Is there any way to force the stall to happen other than by tugging on wires and hoping we get lucky?

Default My 2010

Hello I recently bought a 2010 Mazda CX-9 and am currently experiencing this issue. I know it's been almost 10 years since you've posted this, but I was curious if you ever found out what was wrong with yours?
I cant afford to get another car and am scared to drive my car around. Any information would be awesome!

Thank you.

I suggest to start your own thread and then we can start a Q&A on your "specific" issues. It is very unlikely that yours is the same as no 2 vehicles are alike.
There is series of basic question that need to be asked to start with.

Example: does you Mazda have a salvage title and only 40 k miles?
Also whomever was the claimed service mechanic on post #1 that changed all those parts was not very well trained if ever?

I'm sorry to say that I never found the issue after taking it to the dealer several times, asking other mechanics, having the wiring looked at, etc.

I eventually sold it back to the dealer to recoup at least some of my losses.

There is no such thing as a problem on an ECU, CANbus ,PCM controlled system that can't be diagnosed found and in the end corrected. Sorry you had to sell your Mazda!
