Roof Rack
Just got my 2016 CX-9. I would like to have a roof rack. It does not seem to have any type of cross or other attachments on the roof. Trying to figure out what I need. By the way it does have a sunroof. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Tess

You drill thru the channel rubbers & bolt roof racks into the provided locations. ( requires removal of gutter rubbers to locate drill hole positions)
You get alot of wind noise with the sunroof open & roof racks fitted.

I had the same question as Laidback. So, you're saying that all CX 9s have fixed points on the roof, it's just that some are not accessible through the rubber strips? Do you know if they make replacement strips that can provide access to these fixed points and can be closed off when no rack is on?
Both Yakima and Thule racks clamp to the roof. Rhino-Rack screws to the strong points in the roof after the rubber strip is cut away in those spots. Thule, maybe others, says to avoid opening the sun roof when the rack in in place.
An alternative is to buy the factory roof rails (number 0000-8L-N10B) ($325 on line) as well as the factory cross bars ($150 on line). Amazon has a bunch of off brand cross bars for less than the cost of factory bars.

Thanks for the offer and I'm definitely interested. Is this a system with square or elliptical bars and will the towers mount into the fixed holes? I'm in Memphis but I could pay you for shipping and materials and your time.
