Remote start & climate control

Recently when using my remote start on my 2008 CX-9 it does not turn on the climate control at the setting before leaving the vehicle. The radio will go on where it was set, but the climate control is completely off until I enter the vehicle and turn the key.

Is there any quick fix is or do I need to take it in to a mechanic? The climate control was working fine using remote start and all of a sudden stopped.

RE: Remote start & climate control

Who installed the Remote starter? The Dealer or aftermarket shop? Either way, someone hooked up something wrong. Go get it fixed.

Mine does the same thing. But it isn't restricted to just remote start. Whatever state the climate control is in when I shut off the engine, it's always off when I start it back up. I guess I should have it looked at, but frommany of the comments on this forum, I'm doubt that thedealer wouldbe willing to put a honest effort into correcting it.

RE: Remote start & climate control

That depends on your dealer! Try them anyway. If they don't give a good honest effort at trying to figure it out, fry them on a survey and find another dealer.

Mazda's remote start system will run your climate control at the setting you had it on when you last turned off the car if it's working properly, and the climate control is turned on before killing the car. I've put in 6 of those remote starts and never had an issue.

If it's not working properly and you're under warranty, bring it into the dealer, specifically explain (and if necessary demonstrate) the problem, and let them fix it for you. If they say "no problem found" when you're getting it to act up consistently, be sure to have them go out to your car with you so you can show them yourself. If a Mazda tech can't figure out a problem and he/she has exhausted all resources in the shop (other techs, internet, service manuals, etc.), we have a technical assistance hotline to call for help. From there if the problem is bad enough and the hotline can't help, there are regional technical specialists that can come out and assist. One way or another, if the dealer is doing their job and your car is covered under Mazda's factory warranty, then you'll eventually get your car back in proper working order. If the dealer will not do their job, find another one. Don't give up so easyyou paid good money and it's only sensible to get everything you can out of it.

remote start problems

I had the same problem when i used my remote start. I found a TSB from mazda that indicates that a fuse has blown on the remote start module located under the dash above the brake pedal. I just fixed mine today. apparently I left my windshield wipers in AUTO and the freezing rain we had up here in ohio caused the wiper to blow the fuse because it couldn't move. It took about 45 minutes to repair. I have the PDF file if anyone is interested.:)
