I have 2012 Mazda cx-9….today I rolled the front windows down before I left to go to the store, when I went to roll the passenger window up, it only came up a few inches and then went back down….ive tried pulling it up when the few inches of the window comes up and pulling the switch to close it, but it doesn’t work, just snatches the window out of my hands….ive read so many things, im not sure where to start(i also checked the child lock switch is off)…..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

 

DONT PULL UP ON THE WINDOW WHILE TRYING TO ACTIVATE THE SWITCH.
You could possibly damage more then just a possible faulty control switch. $$$$$$$$$$

You can either disconnect the power supply to the window control (fuse) for several minutes and then try to reconnect and then re-rest the window or the other method is disconnecting the battery for several minutes. Other then this for a DIY your next (better to seek a service shop that advertises Auto electric and HAVAC service) is to either remove the switch control and start to test the switch and also the window motor.

So I went over to my dads house and we took the door apart, originally thought it was just the window motor, but after we looked at it further, we realized it was the regulator….so I bought a new regulator w/ the motor and we replaced it…..now it works fine
