Paint protection for new CX 9

Hello All,

I am new to the forum. Just got my 2018 CX 9 GT (Soul Red). I would like to know how can I protect the paint for my new car. I googled a bit and understood there are multiple ways like Wax, Sealant, Ceramic Coat and film. However not sure which one should go for?
Appreciate any suggestions, I live in north of Boston area and not finding good car detailing shops.

Should I decide the correct way now before the first wash?
Or go for a Wax and/or Sealant for now and decide where I can get a good Nano Preal Ceramic coating?

Thank you in advance.

We just did the deal on a new CX-9 and we are having the from end, mirrors, and under the door handles done with 3M. There is a local guy here that does all the dealerships - his work looks good. We decided to go full hood so there is no lines. We have harsh winters here with lots of rocks and gravel on the roads. Going to do it right! It will be done before we pick the car up next week. Plus I will do my 2-3 times per year full wax treatment with Adams Polish.

What do you want to protect it from? How much work are you willing to do?

For shine and protection from environmental stuff, wax can be the shiniest and also shortest lived. A polymer sealant looks almost as good and can last 6 months or more--that's what I use. I read about the ceramic coatings, but I haven't tried one yet. I see one on Amazon for $60. It sounds like an all day job, but might be worth it.

Bueller had a plastic film applied for impact protection. B.C. highway "sand" has rocks about the size of my thumb.

Thank you PTguy. Today I called a local detailer and took appointment for "New car package" which includes Sealant.. I believe that's good enough for now.

3M is the way to go. The soul red is a weak paint.
