Mazda CX-9 Struts, good choice?
I have 2010 CX-9, I think 50-60 K miles on it.
The ride is getting bad, feels like a bad "Cadillac" floating boat on the road. Not the agile handling when I first bought it in 2010. 4 new tires, Sumitomo, nice hug the road. KYB?, I see some on Ebay, 4 for $450 or so. Local car shop wants $1000 for all 4 new and I don't think they are KYB, maybe Monroe? Not sure about Monroe (but they could be what's on there now, OEM). KYB, a good model, in the $400-$500 range, and what will it cost for a mechanic to install?, fair price to expect. Thx in advance, John |
KYB $383 at shockwarehouse.com set of 4 delivered.
KYB $334 at rockauto.com set of 4 plus shipping KYB $29 each for strut mount (thrust bearing at the top) at rockauto My experience with Monroe is that they don't live as long as others. How long do you expect to own this car? Ask your mechanic about the cost. They prefer to supply the parts, 'cuz they need the mark up as part of their profit. |

Looking to replace them even though they still seem fine. Thanks for the info. |
