Issues with Gracenote Update

I attempted to update the Gracenote in my 2018 CX9. I currently have version 00.09.000 (really old). I confirmed the file was properly loaded onto my thumbdrive. When I go to update the database in my car it recognizes the thumbdrive, then tells me "no update available". I also confirmed its not in a sub-folder. I have used this same thumb drive to successfully update my firmware. Please help!

Format your thumb drive, reload gracenote software update onto it & try again.

I've been having the same problem with my 2017 CX-5. I can't believe there are only 2 people with this problem - there must be more.
Mazda, sadly, is terrible when it comes to updating the infotainment system.

I know this is not helpful, but I am having the same trouble.
It's version 9 on my 2018 CX-9 and trying to update with the latest download from the Mazda site on my USB drive (tried both ports) it says the same thing: "no update available".
I have tried three different USB sticks (two freshly formatted etc).. and still no result.
Hopefully someone has a solution.

Make sure the USB stick is formatted as FAT32

Since I was also wondering about this and couldn't find the answer, the problem is the newest gracenote updates are in .mcg format and the older mazdas only uses .up format for gracenote.

Gracenote Database. To the OP FYI Connect 1 systems version 00.09.000 is the latest and last Mazda will release. For Connect II systems go to the posted link they're in .mcg format select the correct region and follow print instructions. Gracenote is also included in MZD firmware and can be updated by dealer when car is in service.
