Ipod integration unit does not charge ipod?
 

I just purchased a CX9 and paid for ipod integration unit to be installed. I did not ask or the sirius unit but was given a free 6 month subscription. I do not have the nav system. I don't plan to pay for sirius which is why I ordered the ipod integration to be able to play music. I am being told that the ipod integration they plan to install will not charge the ipod. All the brochures indicate it should. I was told by one salesman that plugging in my ipod to the existing audio plug would make it display all the song info from my ipod screen to the car screen. I figured that was incorrect since the 30 pin connection is what transfers the data not the audio cord. Does anyone else know if the ipod integration unit cannot charge the ipod? Also is there an option to have it mounted to store it in the center console rather than the glove box where it is harder to get to? Also will it turn the ipod off when engine is off?
