Default How much will it cost me to get CX9 from 0 to 150K?

Hello CX9 owners,
Im really considering CX9 as our next family car.
Im trying to calculate the long time cost, with me averaging 18K a year, so planning to keep the car for 8-9 years.

I found this maintenance schedule,
How much will it cost me to get CX9 from 0 to 150K?-photo616.jpg

Called a few dealers and they couldn't provide cost / time for main services like tranny of diffs.

Please let me know what services you have done, at what mileage and what was the cost.

Another questions, is it a belt or chain in CX9 2019? Should be replaced at 100K?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Engine has a timing chain.

Most automatic transmissions are filled for life, hence no set maintenance schedule. What the designated life equals is unknown.

Ok, lets pretend no tranny or diff services, which is hard to believe.
So, get to 150K I will need
30 services oil and filter changes about $100 each

8 services brake fluid flush

3 services spark plugs

10 services air filter.

15 - 30 cabin filters

What else is missing? Just in services.

If someone did any services above, please pride frequency and cost.

Why 30 oil changes? What is the recommended OCI for the CX-9?

Why 3 park plug services? What is the recommendation for the tune-up interval for the CX-9?

As for cabin filters, I would have said max of 3; why so many on your list?

Oil change by the book 7.5K but its how car used and gas quality. I think 5K miles is a good range.

Spark plugs by the book every 40K so every 50K makes it 3 services.

Filters all subject to where car used, I like to keep it clean and replace it every 6 months or so. 150K on average is 10 years, so it will be around 20 for me. Forgot air filter which again in some states gets dirty quicker. (Need to add to the list)

Interesting, the oil changes on our Mazdas are more like 10,000 miles and the spark plugs are over 100,000 miles; I'm surprised the CX-9 is so different.

According to Edmunds, CX9 maintenance for 5 years 15K per year will cost $6.3K

I can't get it, how did they come up with that number. I took a half of services what I was expecting for 150K and still short.

10 oil changes = $1000
4 services brake fluid flush = $800
1 services spark plugs = $500
5 services air filter = $500
10 cabin filters = $500

Total: $3.3K, what did they do for another $3K?

I really like to estimate the true cost.

I'm trying to figure out why someone would care; either it will cost less, the same as one of these estimates, or more; regardless, you'll pay the price and move on. Calculating what I'll be paying on my current car, or any other car for that matter, eight or nine years from now will have virtually zero bearing on what I'll be driving and paying for maintenance then.
