Default CX-9 won’t start

I have a 2009 CX-9. The car won’t start and the dashboard lights flicker when I try to start it. I hooked up a reader and it isn’t reading any fault codes. I’ve had the battery checked and it was good and at 85%. Can’t figure out what’s wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Try jump starting it off another running vehicle.

Check that the cable ends are clean and connected tightly. These are the cables on the battery and on the starter motor.

Read the voltage across the battery posts before and during starting. Before starting it should read a few tenths of a volt above 12 volts. If it drops very low while cranking, and you say the battery tests OK, you might have a defective starter motor.
