Cruise Control not engaging/disengages going over bump

The cruise control (cc) on our 2010 CX-9 won't engage most of the time, or if it does engage, as soon as we hit a small bump it disengages. However, if I put my foot behind the brake pedal and apply back-pressure, cc stays engaged. This indicates to me the cc brake-disengagement switch needs to be adjusted to be a little bit less sensitive. Can this be done by the end-user or is it something that needs to be taken to the shop to fix?

Remove it, twists either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Pull the plunger fully out.
While depressing the brake pedal re-install the switch. See if that fixes it.

Same thing happening here.. Did that fix the issue? If so, where is that switch located?

I fixed it sort of. It is under the steering wheel; you'll have to remove the panel then if you look up you'll see a small white plunger-type switch (press on the brake pedal and you should see it go in and out). As grim reaper said, twist the stop and pull the plunger out, then depress the brake pedal and retighten the stop. My issue is that it eventually works its way out again; may have to try a spot of glue on it next time to see if that helps keep it in place.
