Default 2014 cx9

At 82k car started dying out and gauge went to Hot fully. Had towed, waterpump leaked into engine. Engine replacement best option 8-10k$. Sounds like a common problem with these and I now have a 14k loan and no car. Does anyone have a good contact for help. I was so excited about this car and can't believe Mazda won't help

Some vehicles may have coolant leaks at the cylinder head around the exhaust manifold (as shown below). There may
be cracks at the stud bolt hole (1) or at the outside of the exhaust manifold (2)"

"WARRANTY INFORMATION
NOTE:
• This warranty information applies only to verified customer complaints on vehicles eligible for warranty repair.
• This repair will be covered under Mazda’s Powertrain Warranty"
My 2019 CX-9 Sig is under the affected VINs. The document states repairs will only be made if vehicle is within warranty. If this is so, I will be selling my CX-9 and never buying another Mazda. My CX-9 is running fine for now.

Well, if my VIN falls under the affected VIN Range then that means I have a vehicle with the defective design. So sooner or later that sucker is gonna crack.

These threats are often made on forums and really only self-serve. Unfortunately, that TSB if you read is for a MAZDA trained technician and the dealership that services your MAZDA until the warranty periods are expired. TSB are posted on almost every make available you cant get away form any platform that does not have it fair share of problems. Even car like a Ferrari. The other thing is if you are going to read TSBs you need to look at all TSBs available on your specific vehicle and VIN that may be related and or if there are current updates with any current TSB's. Some updates may not have been posted and found by internet DIY surfers.
As for MAZDA and any other make that why there is a warranty! Reading into something that has not yet affected and may not affect your MAZDA is IMO ridicules! You have a fine vehicle reliable and safe, if you take care of it I am certain you will get year service out of it. But is not MAZDA is generally pretty good about taking care of customers if you look at how many there are globally!

New CX9 owner here. I admit this does make me nervous. We have 2 Lexus RX350 in the family and absolutely zero issues. One with 82K and one with 63K and no issues. I was gonna get a third but decided to test out the CX9 and I loved it and bought a 2020 GT with 30k miles. Car was put in service in July 2020 so I have about 6 months and 6k miles left on the factory warranty and I think the powertrain is 5 years 60K. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this since my VIN is also one of those affected. Glad I found this forum.

Sorry the (pre panic) information posted placed a concern for you with your MAZDA? Most all cases the owners all had advance signs of issues. Based on your short post I didn't read you have? But here is something few know to do. Before any of the Warranty section run out on your MAZDA go to a dealership and get them to inspect that warranty area coverage and sign off that there are no issues. While there is no guarantee should a problem arise after a warranty period is up, the WARRATY carrier would be hard pressed to not give some form of support if you were due-diligent with a warranty inspection sign off?

Yeah, I get it. Every auto manufacturer has their shares of problems. I kinda wished I had read up about this in advance so maybe I could look for a newer 2020 or 2021 or even a brand new CX9 period. Where the VIN does not fall in those affected. But I love my CX9 so far and I got it at a great deal. I can't complain. 2020 Grand Touring with 30k miles with some factory warranty remaining. I will definitely keep my eyes out on this. I do some maintenance work myself but for now with this CX9 I will be bringing it to the dealer so that they have records of proper maintenance so in the event anything arises harder for them to deny me. Then as it gets closer to the expiration of the powertrain warranty I will re-evaluate.

Well, if this helps to understand we can't predict on any platform or model what could happen.... Even as much as I know about vehicles connection in the auto manufacturing industry, and also have several Powertrain engineers as friends did all the research, I could find that was legitimate fact based (empirical Data) 6 months after purchasing my Mazda 2019 2.5 ATX I received a safety recall with the possibility of a BCM failure. I finally about 18 months later got around to changing it myself (10 inutes) .I still have the original but in those 18 months it never failed or was problematic?
