Coolant 2012 CX9 Grand Touring

Do I really need to use FL22 coolant in my 2012 CX9 Grand Touring, or does Prestone and others make something equivalent?

Mazda only specifies FL22 coolant.

The Prestone company makes 11 different antifreeze coolants for different types of engines. If you get the right one, I'll work fine. Prestone has 3 different formulations just for Asian vehicles. Their green dyed product is right for Mazdas, https://prestone.com/product/preston...freezecoolant/

What you can't do is just ask for a jug of "Prestone" and use whatever is on the shelf. Well, you can do anything you want, it's your car, but you won't have good results. Zerex also makes an Asian Vehicle antifreeze, also with green dye, labeled as suitable for Mazdas. And, you don't want to use a green dyed product that isn't listed for Asian vehicles and specifically for Mazda.

For my family fleet I'll need the Asian red for the Toyota and the Asian green for the Mazda.

I just found that Peak also makes coolant for asian vehiclkes, including Mazda.

I'm still wondering if it's equivalent to FL22 as specified in Mazda manual. I'll have to call Peak.

Although not readily available in-store, you can grab some FL22 premix or concentrate from Amazon. Look at Ravenol.
