Climate Control fan motor sounds like a Harley - new-to-me 2014 CX9

Well, not quite that loud, but the motor volume increases as you ramp up the fan speed. When it's at full tilt or near fill tilt, it literally sounds like there's a Harley idling about 3 cars behind me. The first time I noticed it I was at a light and looked around to see where the noise was coming from.

It's only noticeable when you get to maybe the 3rd click and it occurs whether in HEAT or AC or just the fan. Also, whether I have the REAR button pressed or not.

The vehicle is certified pre-owned (by Mazda) and is factory warranted for 12 months from date of purchase (June 5, 2017). Any idea if this is a covered warranty thing?

Thanks!

Give your dealer a ring & ask. If its a mechanical issue, then yes, if its a leaf stuck in there, then no.

You can drop the glovebox, remove the pollen filter and have a look. I think the fan motor is reasonable easy to remove out the bottom.

You prolly fixed this by now but for future reference, I had a leaf fall into the motor cavity when I pulled out the cabin filter. Was loud as hell until I vacuumed it out.
