Does anyone know why the cargo cover accessory is not available for models with power liftgate?

Is there anyway around this.. Has anyone installed it anyhow?

 

We pick up our new GT with the power lift gate tomorrow, I'll ask and let you know what they say.

 

I have the 08 with power lift gate and wanted to purchase the cargo cover, but my dealership informed me they don't have one out yet to fit vehicles with the lift gate option. No explanation, just said they weren't compatible. Hopefully they'll come out with one soon, and wouldn't it be nice if Mazda would offer a discount for the trouble. ya right!

 

I don't know, but could it be that the back of the cover attaches to the lift gate and would interfere w/it's operation if left in place?
