Was that OTD price after a trade allowance or cash down?
I know what you mean about "all the bells and whistles". My last few cars have been the loaded ones and I don't think I can go back...
I did not trade in a vehicle. I paid cash but had negotiated the entire transaction by email before I told them that. So it did not factor into the price.
After we finished the sale I asked why so low. The sales manager said the deals were on now for the 2017's (rebates, etc), putting them in a bind trying to get rid of the last 2016's.
No vehicle was traded in. I paid cash but completed all negotiations on pricing before I told the dealership that fact, so that was not a factor.
After the purchase I talked with the dealer and asked why they could go so low. He said that good manufacturer rebates/customer cash/etc. were now being offered for the 2017's leaving the dealerships in a bind trying to get rid of their few remaining 2016's. Some deals should be available for any remaining new 2016's that folks find on dealership lots.
Sadly our 2016 CX-9 GT was totaled last week in an accident. Thanks to all the safety features no one was hurt. Fortunately my wife and I had decided to add "New car replacement" and "Accident forgiveness" to our insurance policy. There are no 2017's in the state so we will be getting a 2018. We are going with the same dealer we got the 2016 from and it is going to be even less $$ than the 2016. Current quote is just under $38K for the Grand Touring FWD. Same color too...I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the Signature came in Soul Red, that's the one I'd get.
Mazda even fixed my main gripe with the CX-9, the front drivers seat was only 6-way power and the passenger 4-way. Most all others have driver 8-way and passenger 6-way. My 2014 Mazda 6 GT has it, go figure...
Well, ended up getting the 2018 CX-9 GT Soul Red FWD for $36,999 + TTL. Since I got so low I also negotiated a longer warranty, 7yr/70K Bumper-to-bumper and 10yr/100K power train for an additional $2550.
Not to bad and my payment is exactly the same.....
