2013 CX-9 Transmission Shudder

Well, damn. I found an additive that many people swear by - LubeGard Shudder Fixx - and it gets rave reviews, but there's just one problem: the 2013 CX-9 doesn't have a transmission dipstick so I cannot use this additive.

What's the best way to go about dealing with the transmission shudder? I'm do for a ATF change (103k miles), but will that do the trick?

They have a fill bung on top of the transmission.

Thanks for posting that, grim.

It's been really interesting attempting to determine when, if and how to drain and refill the fluid on this Mazda. Even dealers don't agree, and "lifetime fluid" until parts or transmission has to be replaced is BS.

2010 cx-9 with 166k. the dreaded shudder!

2010 cx-9 with 166k. Trans shudder into 4 and 5th started this mo. Does not shudder if manually shifting. What is the fix? If it works in manual mode, I would think trans os OK. Fluid drain dill at $130k and again this week at 166k, to see if that was an issue. used a qt of Lucas too. I've seen the other additive for shudder.... but that usually is a temp fix, so time to trade-in for a new-leased RAV4 Hybrid? ?? Cars are too complicated to own any more. lease em and give em back before they break.
