Hi, I have a 2009 CX-9 with 130k miles, engine has been stuttering a bit lately, like it skips a beat now and then -- it only happens when I accelerate mildly, not if I gun it, and not if I'm coasting. Only when I'm giving it a little gas. Do you think this is due to dirty fuel lines/fuel injector? If so, would a fuel additive solve the problem? Or should I get a full-fledged fuel system cleaning? Any advice most appreciated.

 

1st step is scanning for fault codes.

 

Try a fuel additive that both cleans and removes water. Start with the easy, low cost things.
