2008 CX-9 Headlight Assembly

Hey, everybody! Long-time Mazda enthusiast, new to the forum.

I have to replace the assemblies on both sides of my 2008 sport, and I'm looking for some insight. Why is there such a big price difference in this year range from the 2010? The 2007-2009 are at least $400 each, while the 2010 you can find for $150ish each.

I clearly see a difference in the lens design, but is there a difference in size, fit and finish? The other thing I've noticed (I've only been looking at pictures online) is the mounting on the bottom seems to be different.

Has anyone swapped the assemblies from a 2010 into an older model, or is there a big difference that they won't fit that I may not be seeing?

Thank you for any info on the topic!

-Matt

I know this is a few years old now but did you ever figure out if the 2008 and 2010 headlight assemblies were interchangeable or not? I’m curious about the same thing.
