I have the stock sound system and want to upgrade the front speakers. I have not yet removed the speaker grilles. Any of you know what size the speakers are? Better yet, has any of you already done this? I don't want to spend a fortune, but do want something sweet.

I havea similar question.. I also havea stock sound system but I want to upgrade to a bose system or similar 10 speaker system. anybody done this.
I have located a 7 " NAV stereo that fits and then will move to the speakers.

 

It seems all Ford and Mazda vehicles these days run 6x8er"s as OE. I would imagine the CX7 is no different.
I have had good luck upgrading to Pioneers. Not the best, not the worst, and very inexpensive,but a very nice upgrade none-the-less.
I am not an expert on stereo stuff, but there is some problem and expense retrofitting the Bose into a car that did not come equipped w/it originally. Plus many have said that it is not all it is cracked up to be. Of course that last part is a relative statement.

 

According to Crutchfield yeah its 6x8" front and back. Now the question is what brand speakers favor the CX7 more?

 

The stock system won't win any competitions, but you don't want to upgrade to Bose; there are tons of other and better alternatives at Crutchfield and others
