Have an 08 cx7 turbo with timing chain issues. Is there video on replacement or recall for replacement since there is so many problems with this? Mazda dealer in St.Cloud,Minnesota said $1500.00 to replace. Seems a little steep to me and would do it myself at that price.

 

Hi I am an owner of a 2008 Mazda CX 7 and I am also having the timing belt issue. Belt hasn’t snapped yet but I am worried that it will seens ticking noise has got louder lately.
I am located in Ecuador South America, over here mechanics don’t have much knowledge nor experience on this specific issue. So, I will like to know if somebody can provide the list of parts I will need and if there is a tech sheet for this procedure, also if you can suggest an online store that might carry this parts.
Any other information regarding this issue will be highly appreciated.

Your car does not have a timing belt, it has a timing chain.

 

This is a very common issue with the 2.3L Turbo Motor. We do sell a full kit to repair this engine that includes all of the parts needed. You would only need to get Oil and Antifreeze. The kit can be found here.

All skyactiv engine are chain drive. Late 2013 onwards engines are skyactiv.
