I have a 2008 CX-7 Sport. I want to add a CarPlay stereo to the car before handing it down to my daughter. She is really wanting a backup camera.
My options are to add an OEM camera or a license plate frame camera. I’d prefer to go with OEM camera but I do not see any provisions on the lift gate where an OEM camera would have been place. Does anyone know if there is a location to mount an OEM camera for a 2008 CX-7.

If this is not possible to give it the OEM integrated look then I’ll go with the license plate frame type.

I have and '08, backup cameras weren't on every car back then as they are now. So I don't know if there would be an OEM option for it... Mazda didn't make one. Could you find an OEM for a newer model and modify it to work? Probably.
