Default Mazda OEM 20x7.5 J rims vs 8" rims of similar specs

Hi,
I recently bought my CX-60 3.3l e40 Azami SP and am loving it. I recently discivered that the OEM rim size was 7.5" using 235/50r20x tyres. Then I noticed that Mazda also had another option, which is an 8 inch rim using 255/45r20 tures (which I wasn't told about earlier). Here's a silly question. Is there any real difference in terms of handling between the 2 sets of wheels? I can't make myself spend $2k on a set of wheels when I am already happy with what I've got 235/50r20 x 7.5J. Or is there a reason to?
