Default Winter Tire Size?

Hello All

I have the 2014 CX5 GS and I am in the process of buying winter tires.

My only question is do I get the stock wheel size of 17" or do I get 16" which I hear may be better in the snow.

Thanks a lot

I'm no tire expert but I believe diameter doesn't affect snow traction as much as tire width- a narrow footprint improves traction because it tends to 'cut-thru' snow rather than float over it.

I agree. If you put on 16's you may have brake caliper clearance issues, ask your Mazda dealer if they put on 16" snow tires. 16's may be cheaper.
