WalMart shopping cart - Now have dents and gash
Last week when I came out of WalMart I noticed a nice dent in the driver side rear door. Had a dent guy look at it and said it will require paint for the area where paint is almost cracked.
Here is my questions: Machine Grey Metallic paint . PPG has a utube on how to repair and paint this color. Realize this will take some extra steps to get it right.
. Anyone have any repair done on this color and results.I
. What type of shop or dealer did you use.
. Being that the ding is about of foot up from bottom of the door. Will I have to have the driver door painted to match up.
. Debating having a color matched side body molding installed. This would then only require to have the bottom half of the door painted, leaving the top half as OEM.
Anyone have any ideas or other options /input.
Thanks,
Jim

I'm cheap so I would try to have the dent fixed and try touch up paint. Then use a polishing pad and Flitz or other polish to smooth it out. Having the whole door repainted will cost a fortune.
Update. I took the CX5 to a dent guy. He told me up front that the deep dent was right on the body internal brace. He worked on the deep one and was able to remove 80%. The rest of the dings were fixed and look 100%. I am now looking into some after market side moldings in OEM color.
This will allow me to keep the OEM paint and cover up the damage.
Realize this is just my daily driver, however I try to keep it looking good.

Until I had to start using disabled slots, I did the same. However, I don't know how many times I would park out in the netherlands and when I came back to the car, there would be an old beater parked right next to me and so close, you couldn't get the door open.
I haven't had a beater park next to me as you described, yet, but it always seems that I get some like minded individuals parking near me out in the boonies.
