Default USB Ports on 2016 Mazda CX-5 Touring

There are 2 USB ports in the center dash console of my vehicle. Does anyone know the output ( in volts and amps) of these 2 ports? Are they both the same output? Are they switched or un-switched? Can they be used to charge a cell phone or tablet or possibly a radar detector or a stand alone GPS device. Any info. would be appreciated as the manual just makes casual mention of them and gives no specs that I could find.

THANKS

To the best of my knowledge, they are standard USB ports of 5v & 2.4/2.5A

They work off the key. I placed my entire music library on a 16gb USB and use one of the ports to play.

They are pretty inadequate for charging any devices. Most have gone to charging from the center console under your right elbow.

They are perfect for running a GPS, or Radar detector, even charging your cellphone.

My USB ports will charge an iPhone, but not the iPad. Weird.

I'm fairly certain that these ports are 1A max draw and so would not be able to charge most devices properly.

Go ahead and try them Topol. Then report back. I'm no "Super moderator" but I have a pretty good idea of what your experience will be.
