Tail Lights Blinking
At night when my lights automatically turn on, the tail lights blink in a very specific sequence. The left and upper light blink, then the right light blinks twice and then alternates the sequence repeatedly. When i press on the brake pedal, the blinking stops and goes to a steady light on all three tail lights. I initially thought it may have been the brake switch but when i was down there looking at it, I heard a ticking sound coming from the console. To make a long story short, i took apart the console and found a small piece on the left side of the gear shift assembly that was making the ticking sound and directly follows the sequence of the tail light issue. (every time that piece moves and ticks, my tail lights do the thing). Doing some more research I found that may be the neutral park switch? I have gone through many websites to see if I can order just that switch but only seem to find one for older models.... which means, and I hope I'm wrong, that Mazda doesn't make just the switch available and have to purchase and replace the whole unit. All in all, the main issue is the tail lights and the second issue is the parts. Sorry for the lengthy post, just trying to provide as much information. All is help is appreciated!
