SD Nav Card

Getting ready to install Nav card. Saw a YouTube and car was on when SD card inserted.
Read online article that said to have car off and install card, then turn on car to see if it installed correctly.

Thoughts?

Insert the card with the car off.

Always with car off.

Thanks!

Will try!

The manual says to install it with the car off.

I would go with the manual over a YouTube video every day.

Just did this myself on a new 2020 CX5. Dealer wanted $400 so got one from Amazon for $48. Inserted it with car off, turned it on pushed the nav button and it registered it to my car and works perfectly.

I ordered the SD card from Amazon for my CX-5 as well. Installed it in the SUV while off. Powered up the car and it worked perfectly! Love the NAV card!

You guys with the new cards. Don't forget to update them using Mazda toolbox. You'll need to drive a minimum amount of miles first to 'mate' the card to your car. I believe it's 69 miles?

Guess why sd cards are so expensive at retailer, it is because so many pirate cards are bought.

I think you've got it backwards.
