Is rust a problem on 2013-2014 models?
Hello,
I'm new to Mazdas and thinking to buy a 2013-2014 CX-5 for my wife.
Read on the internet about rust being an issue on Mazdas in general.
Is that true for the CX-5? Likely would get an USA East-Coast model, they all definitely met their share of winters.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!

I'm not taking any chances on my 2019. Way more surface rust on the welds of my last 2013 Lexus than I wanted. Brushed and undercoated it after I bought it (used) to stop the progression of the surface rust.
It's not just Mazda, Toyota and many others have insufficient coating of the frame/subframe to really last a long time in winter conditions.
Just bought two cans of rubberized undercoating.
It can even reduce noise a little bit. I'm putting it on the underside of my hood as well.
